August 2007 My Namaoke project was featured on the CJOH-TV News on August 23, the fifth day of our shows at the Central Canada Exhibition in Ottawa. Fashionably Unconscious is gearing up for a reunion concert in October. It will feature all the musicians who used to play at various times in this eclectic cover band. February 2006 MILLIKEN's show at the Mercury Lounge with Camp Best Friends and the Watters Brothers was a big success. We raised almost $1000 for Oxfam Canada. Thanks to everyone who came out. March 2005 A song that I co-wrote with Andrea England called "Another Day" was used on the CBS TV series "Joan of Arcadia" which is on Fridays at 8:00 pm. It was featured as background music on the episode "Secret Service" which aired on March 4, 2005. Check out www.cbs.com/primetime/joan_of_arcadia/index.shtml for info about the show. September 2004 The new MILLIKEN EP has been mastered and will soon be available at our shows. Check out the mp3's on the MILLIKEN page. MILLIKEN has added a new member. Mary Gellner joins the band on drums and percussion. She will share the stage with our current drummer Gerard Loehr, adding her energy and groove to the mix. One plays drums while the other adds flavour on congas, bongos, shaker, cowbell, triangle and whatever else they can dig out of their trick bag. Then they trade places. July 2004 This month MILLIKEN is recording at Arnie's Head Studio with producer Casey Conner. We're doing four songs: Annie, Whatever Comes My Way, Let Go Of My Hand, and I Can't Carry You. Once they're mixed and mastered, we'll be putting them on the site as mp3's. Stay tuned. May 2004 Andrea England's new CD entitled Lemonade will be released on May 18, 2004. This will have national distribution through Maple Nationwide/Universal Music. I co-wrote three of the songs which appear on the album and am featured playing guitar on several tracks. The first single from the record is the song Be, which has already been released for radio play. Request it! April 2004 This month I'm in the studio with Junkyard Symphony. We're recording several tracks with producer Andy Zeitz at Pebble Studios. The songs include Shine, Darkness, Walk on the Water, and Angel. For now, the recordings will be used as a demo to showcase the talents of the group; but later they will form part of a full-length album. September 2003 I recently co-wrote an original song with my wife Cindy for her sister's wedding. Two Rivers is a light, upbeat love song for acoustic guitar and two voices. The lyrics compare a relationship to a beautiful scene in Yoho Park, BC, where a white, milky river and a clear blue river (both descending from ice caps) join paths and continue side by side for some time before completely merging. The music reflects the gentle skipping of water through the mountains and the happy, carefree feeling of being excited and at peace all at once. Congratulations to Trish and Will on their recent marriage!
